- The Go Ethereum team releases a vulnerability report regarding how a vulnerable node is susceptible to crash when processing a maliciously crafted message from a peer. Geth v1.10.9 contains patches to this vulnerability.
- Tim Beiko and Trenton Van Epps will be hosting the Merge Community Call coming up on November 5th, 2021 at 14:00 UTC.

Mainstream Recap:
- Cream Finance has been exploited and is suffering a ~$115M attack. The analysis is still under work. The exploit was successful due to it taking place atomically with assets being able to change their value rapidly. In doing so, Cream couldn’t prevent itself from going under water.
- Bitwise launches the Polygon (MATIC) Fund which will offer exposure to one of Ethereum’s leading scaling solutions.
- A critical vulnerability in the Polygon Plasma Bridge has been fixed. The double spending bug could have been used to take out $223 for every $1 put into the bridge.
- AVATerra Finance suffered an exploit on October 20th, 2021 due to a custom minting function which has zero visibility protections. Anyone could call the function and mint/dump thousands of tokens.
- FTX announced last week that it has raised $420,690,000 in a Series B-1 funding round.
- Martin Zumsande becomes the 2nd Brink fellow to join the Bitcoin developer firm. Martin will be focusing full-time on Bitcoin development from London.
- Big NFT moves this past week, BAYC #8585 sold for 696.969 ETH and CryptoPunks #273 and #4626 were both acquired for 265 ETH and 248.88 ETH respectively.
- Wyre and Stellar have teamed up to make crypto more accessible.
- Cryptocurrency firm Crypterium has secured Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) registration to operate in the U.K.

- CoinDesk reports that FTX Crypto Exchange has finalized the LedgerX acquisition. LedgerX will now be known as FTX US Derivatives.
