Bitcoin:
- Gloria Zhao posted to the Bitcoin-Dev mailing list a design proposal for mempool policy changes in preparation for package relay. The proposal enables the package relay of multiple related transactions that would enhance both the flexibility and reliability of CPFP (Child-Pays-For-Parent) and RBF (Replace-By-Fee) fee bumping.
- André Neves announces the Lightning Address protocol which will wrap LNURL-pay flows into familiar email-like addresses.
- Specter’s v1.6.0 release includes support for both regtest and signet Taproot addresses.
Ethereum:
- Ethereum Foundation’s Go Ethereum client is sun-setting Geth’s fast sync in favor of snap sync.
- The latest release of hevm introduces symbolic execution features which can be used for checking smart contracts for correctness, step through the execution space of live contracts, or prove equivalence between them!
- The Ethereum Cat Herders release their latest update including information on The Merge, Altair, and an insight into significant EIPs.
Other Chains:
- Optimism unveils their most significant improvements to Optimistic Ethereum which will include one-click deployments for projects looking to get onto Optimism in October. Any tooling that can run on Ethereum will run identically on Optimistic Ethereum without any modifications.
- Polygon initiates collaboration with EY on building Ethereum scaling and enterprise solutions.
- 1inch Network integrates with DeFi platform Oasis.app, which is built on top of the Maker Protocol. With Oasis.app, users can borrow Dai in a cheaper and safer way than on other platforms.
- Uniswap Labs launches the Auto Router which delivers better execution prices for traders by splitting routes across multiple pools, using more data for larger trades, and factoring in gas costs at each step.
- Kyber Network is bringing KyberDMM, DeFi’s first multi-chain dynamic market maker to Avalanche! In addition, Kyber is collaborating with the Avalanche Foundation on a $5.8M liquidity mining campaign.
- Oasis.app announces the launch of the Oasis Multiply functionality. Now users can immediately utilize their generated Dai to buy more collateral without having to leave the app.
- Wormhole introduces the launch of their Wormhole Token Bridge on Ethereum and Solana! V1 users will be able to simply exchange their assets for V2 assets at a 1-to-1 rate.
- Ren shares that there is a new BTC stable pool on Arbitrum, courtesy of Curve Finance. Users can now seamlessly bridge BTC to Arbitrum.
- 0xMaki announces the move away from day-to-day operations into an advisory role to help the next generation of teams building on Sushi.
- A governance proposal was established for the Aave community to accept a deployment of the Aave Protocol on Avalanche.
- Aztec shares the next set of updates for the Aztec Network which include Verifier upgrades, increasing the transaction cap to $100,000 per transaction, zk.money private key changes, and UI upgrades.
- StarkWare shares the differences between the EVM and Cairo VM.
- OpenZeppelin introduces their Smart Contract Security Guidelines, which entails a selection of best practices in secure smart contract development.
- ChainSafe Systems is working to rewrite Web3.js under version 4.x. It will be a complete TypeScript modernization of the library and implement SEMVER practices to follow industry standards.
