- Bitcoin ABC v0.21.5 has been released. This release includes a new bitcoin wallet tool, regtest transaction policy changes, and minor performance improvements for JSON RPC calls.
Ethereum:
- Ethereum developers continue to push forward on ETH2.0 testing environments via the Topaz testnet from Prysmatic Lab’s Prysm project and the Schlesi testnet from Goerli. Prysmatic Labs has recently announced that Quantstamp will be conducting a formal security audit of Prysm. One can view the Prysm beacon chain here.
Other Chains:
- Lightning Network’s LND v.0.10.0-beta.rc4 is available for testing the next major version of LND.
- The Electric Coin Company releases v2.1.2 of Zcash with support for the activation of Heartwood on testnet, with an activation height of 903800, which should occur on May 6, 2020.
- Aztec Protocol releases v0.1 demo code for their ZK-ZK rollup. This is the first implementation of universal recursion for pairing-based SNARKs over a single curve.
- Ethereum on-chain options trading protocol, Hegic, alerted users of an incorrect function name in their smart contract which allowed liquidity in expired options contracts to not be unlocked for new options. Full thread here.
- A developer from All in Bits releases a full visualizer of Game of Zones on the Cosmos Network. This IBC real-time visualizer displays nodes as sovereign blockchains and edges as inter-blockchain transactions.
- IPFS releases v0.5.0, the largest upgrade yet to the IPFS protocol and public network. Community integration and feedback with IPFS is now being conducted with Opera, Brave, Microsoft ION, Netflix and Cloudflare.
- CasperLabs announced its planned integration with Chainlink’s decentralized oracle network.
- Crypto management platform, TokenSets, announced upgrades to RoboSet which will reduce slippage during time of rebalancing and enable less liquid ERC-20 assets to be placed into Sets.
- Vac, a modular, peer-to-peer message stack for private, secure, censorship resistant communication, released a feasibility study on peer discovery used in Status.
- PegNet announces that they will now be working with Chainlink to be added to the network to report on all prices from the PegNet system. This will enable the flow of PegNet asset prices into Chainlink.
- Stellar releases an article explaining one of its key features, Issuer-Enforced Finality.

- The Electric Coin Company releases a statement on their commitment to open source zECC wallet (Android and iOS versions) in Q2 of 2020.
- Coindesk publishes an article on the timeline of Facebook’s Libra project.
- A news outlet in China, Mutual Chain Pulse, was informed that on April 22, the Xiong’an New District held a pilot promotion meeting for the central bank digital currency (CBDC). The article notes Starbucks, McDonald’s, Qingfeng Baozi shops and more are likely to participate in the CBDC pilot.

- Dole released a Sustainability Report which outlines the use of a blockchain solution aiming to be implemented by 2025.
- Ebang International Holdings Inc., one of the leading manufacturers of bitcoin mining equipment is filing for a $100M IPO with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
- Juggernaut, a messenger application built on top of Bitcoin and Lightning Network has been launched. This application allows users to send and receive censorship-resistant, end-to-end encrypted, onion-routed, peer-to-peer messages and payments.
- J. Christoper Giancarlo, Senior Counsel at Willkie Farr and Gallagher and former Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission discusses his views on a central bank digital currency (CBDB) with Forbes. Full article here.
